Meet Dr. Azargoon

Board-certified endodontist, recently chosen to serve on the Antarctica Dental Mission and currently engaged in NASA dental training.

Dr. Homa Azargoon grew up right here in Raleigh, NC, and she’s thrilled to be back home serving the community she loves.

She graduated as Valedictorian from NC State University with a degree in Microbiology and a minor in Genetics—science has always been her passion. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery with honors from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she discovered her calling in Endodontics. To specialize even further, she completed advanced training at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry, becoming a board-certified endodontist in 2011.

Over the years, Dr. Azargoon has taught future dentists at UNC and ECU, served on national committees for the American Association of Endodontists, and even led the Tar Heel Dental Study Club in Boone. Her patients value not only her expertise but also her kindness and calm, reassuring manner.

After more than a decade running her own endodontic practice in Boone, she chose to return to Raleigh to be closer to her family.

Dr. Azargoon’s professional achievements extend far beyond the dental office. She was selected from among dentists nationwide to provide dental care for the U.S. Antarctic Program, becoming the sole dentist supporting an expedition in one of the world’s most extreme environments. Currently, she is also training with NASA on studies related to human health in space.

When she’s not helping patients, Dr. Azargoon loves spending time outdoors—hiking, traveling to new places with her husband Ben, and exploring foods from around the world.
