Meet Dr. Maresca
Founder of Peak Endodontics, who holds dual master’s degrees from the University of North Carolina. DDS: University of North Carolina UNC, Chapel Hill.
Dr. Cristina Maresca founded Peak Endodontics in 2015 and has since become one of the Triangle’s most trusted endodontists. She has called North Carolina home since 2001, when she began her dental journey at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
At UNC, Dr. Maresca earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors, followed by a Master’s in Operative Dentistry in 2006. She also served as an Adjunct Faculty member in Operative Dentistry while practicing in Chapel Hill and Cary. Her passion for root canal therapy led her back to UNC for a second Master’s degree in Endodontics, where she completed three years of advanced training, refining her diagnostic and clinical skills. During that time, she received multiple awards for her excellence.
Today, Dr. Maresca continues to teach part-time in the Department of Endodontics at UNC and is an active member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists. She also leads a large local study club where specialists and general dentists collaborate monthly to share knowledge and improve patient care.
At Peak Endodontics, Dr. Maresca is passionate about investing in the latest technology—from 3D CBCT imaging and surgical microscopes to the newest laser innovations. These tools help make root canal treatment smoother, safer, and more comfortable for patients. She often says her work feels more like a hobby she loves, and that joy translates into a positive experience for everyone in her chair.
Dr. Maresca is equally proud of her amazing team. She spends countless hours training her assistants—who are lovingly nicknamed “mini endodontists in training”—to ensure patients receive the very best care.
Outside the office, Dr. Maresca has been happily married for 24 years and is the proud mom of two daughters, Sofia and Gabriella, who are both passionate about cheer and tumbling. At home, the family is kept on their toes by their two mini dachshunds, Ginger and George, who have stolen their hearts.
